Synthesis, Characterization of Phosphine, Phosphine Oxide and Amine Stabilized Platinum Nanoparticles in Organic Medium

Synthesis of platinum nanoparticles (Pt-NPs) in organic medium is achieved by simple reduction method using Me2Pt (cod) complex as nanoparticle precursor and octadecylsilane as a reducing agent. These NPs are stabilized by organic ligands such as triphenylphosphine, triphenylphophine oxide and trioctylamine and the resulting NPs are characterized by UV-Vis spectroscopy, FTIR, XRD, TEM, SEM, XPS, TGA-DTG, ICP and NMR. The average diameters of the ligands stabilized Pt-NPs are in a range 1 to 3 nm. The influence of ligands on the long-term stability of NPs and their catalytic activity in the hydrosilylation of styrene are investigated.
