Impact of New Generation Growth Regulators (BRs and CPPU) on Quality Parameters of Grape CV.Tas-AGanesh.
Effects of new generation growth regulators viz. brassinosteroids (BRs) and CPPU (N -(2-chloro-4-pyridyl)-N¢-phenylurea) either alone or in combination with BA were studied on bunch parameters (bunch weight, berry weight, berry volume and number of berries per bunch), berry growth and development and various biochemical attributes in seedless grape cv. Tas-A-Ganesh. The treatments were applied by dipping the bunches in growth regulators at three different time intervals i.e 7th DAFS (days after fruit set) or15th DAFS or both at 7th and 15th DAFS. The results showed that two dippings i.e. (7th and 15th) DAFS were more effective than single sprays. The treatments having combination of either higher or lower concentration of both BR (0.2 or 0.4 ppm) and CPPU (2 or 3 ppm) along with BA 20 ppm produced maximum bunch weight (371.1 g) berry weight (4.90 g), berry volume (4.22) and number of berries per bunch (90.8). Berry length and diameter of more than 20 mm and 17 mm respectively required for export were obtained with T3 (BR 0.2 ppm + CPPU 2 ppm + BA 20 ppm). Maximum total soluble solids (TSS) of 19.5oB, reducing sugars (14.3 %) and brix yield of 73.4 were recorded with T9 (CPPU 3ppm+BR 0.4ppm+BA 20 ppm), while T5 (CPPU 2ppm+BR 0.4ppm+BA 20ppm) had the lowest acidity (0.45 %) and maximum brix acid ratio (43.4).. ....
